Our thanks
We extend a sincere thank you to all the volunteers, donors and businesses who helped us make our 2013 season a success! Once again, the support shown by our communities has been overwhelming.
Program review
Hants County Christmas Angels Show
In review, our 37th annual Hants County Christmas Angels Show raised $23,000 which helped 373 local children over the holiday season. The Christmas Angels Show could not have happened without the assistance of many people including our talented performers, greeters, pledge desk volunteers, many local businesses and organizations, those who made in-kind donations, and of course, those who tuned into the show and made financial contributions to help others in need during the holiday season.
Our sponsors EastLink Television and CFAB 1450 who were of great assistance leading up to the show and spent many hours volunteering throughout the show. Thank you to ScotiaBank Windsor for the support in our fundraising efforts. A special ‘thank you’ goes out to Joe Seagram, for his excellent job as Honorary Chair for 2013, and to Michael Jamieson for donating so many hours doing the sound for our show.
Tree of Hope
Our Tree of Hope was a success this year: 381 children received gifts from this very special program. A warm ‘thank you’ to those who kindly purchased gifts, and to local banks and merchants who assisted by putting tags on their trees and promoted Christmas Angels. A special ‘thank you’ to Delores Arsenault who ensured the success of the program with her extra efforts in the Mount Uniacke area. Finally, thank you to Windsor United Baptist Church for providing our Coordinator with the space required to receive, sort, and distribute the gifts and meals to our recipients.
Wishbook Program
The Wishbook program helped 11 families who were in great need during the holiday season by providing Christmas dinner and gifts for entire families. A sincere thank you is extended to the churches, businesses, families and organizations that generously helped provide Christmas to families in this program.
In closing, thank you so very much for making this Christmas a more joyful time for children and families in our communities. You will never know how much your generosity means to those who need a little extra help during the Christmas season.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Karen Embanks, President – Hants County Christmas Angels Society
Dora Dorman, 2013 Christmas Angels Coordinator
